About the Rush

Girls from across Northwest Wisconsin, playing as one team.

Any girl whose home association doesn’t offer a girls’ team can register directly with the Namekagon Rush. If your association does have an all girls’ team, email us with questions — namekagonrush@gmail.com.

The Namekagon River, which runs through all the member communities, gives the team its name.

Why choose Girls' Hockey over co-ed hockey teams?
Girls' Hockey is the fastest growing youth sport in the United States! Girls used to play on boys or co-ed teams because there simply wasn't an all girls' team to play on. As hockey participation has grown, so has girls' and women's hockey! Northwest WI is proud to have a Girls' High School Team and Girls' Youth Hockey — Namekagon Rush. By being a Namekagon Rush Player you will be challenged and will get to know the girls that you will play High School Hockey with!
Is the Namekagon Rush a co-op?
An official co-op through the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA) is defined as two or three teams. Therefore, the Namekagon Rush is a co-op in spirit, not on paper. WAHA states that girls may play with the closest girls' team if their association does not offer a girls' team.
What are the options for registering?
Any girl living in this area may register directly with the Namekagon Rush if their home association does not offer a girls' team. Or you may cross-roster. Please register with the cross-roster option, and then the Namekagon Rush committee will determine eligibility.
What are the volunteer requirements?
Team families run home tournaments and games, run concessions at 1–2 Girls' High School Hockey Team games, and sell 10 cash raffle tickets.
