From first skates to high school

The girls' hockey pathway in Northwest Wisconsin — and where the Namekagon Rush fits in.

Learn to Skate

  • Through your home association.
  • Offered in Hayward, Spooner, Burnett, Barron, Park Falls, Ashland, Cumberland, Rice Lake, and anywhere in between.

Learn to Play Hockey / 6U

  • Through your home association.

8U / Mites

  • Through your home association.
  • Home associations may form 8U girls' teams that attend 8U girls' jamborees.
  • Some 8U girls' teams may play under Namekagon Rush at 8U girls' jamborees.

Namekagon Rush — 10U / 12U / 14U

  • All-girls' teams.
  • Register directly with Namekagon Rush if your association doesn't offer an all-girls team.
  • Birth years 2011–2016.
  • October – mid March · 2–3 practices per week.
  • Team responsibilities include working team games and tournaments and 2 high school games.
  • 2–4 away tournaments. Practices, games and tournaments are held in many of your home-association rinks.
  • Your home association may offer cross-rostering.

High School Hockey

  • High school girls' team.
  • JV and Varsity teams.

Learn to Skate, 6U and 8U are run through your home association. Once players reach 10U, the Namekagon Rush brings girls from across the region together as all-girls’ teams.
